I do not recommend converting a single axle trailer to a tandem axle by adding the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR1200S04. This will give you 2 different suspension systems that will not work correctly together. Since your current suspension will react differently than the Timben suspension.

You will first need to determine what axle type you have to verify the correct kit for your 44' triple axle enclosed trailer. We have a Kit # RR55QX for a triple axle trailer that uses leaf springs and kits for Dexter Torflex axles. Some trailers have the leaf spring stack above the axle and some have it underneath. You can move the stack to the top of the axle but you will have to weld on new spring seats to the top of the axle. Use # TRSS175 for a 1-3/4 inch round axle.

I do have an option that may work for you however, none of our trailer axles have a spring center to spring center measurement of 48" and a hub face to hub face measurement of 57.5". In some certain cases you might use an axle that is longer than the width of the trailer frame, such as if larger fenders or other structures cover that extra axle length. But usually you will want the axle length to be a closer fit. The axle spring seats may not be in the right places on the axle beam if the trailer is much less wide.

You can replace your square axle with round axles, but you would need to replace both axles instead of just one to ensure you have the same length axles, which will ensure your suspension and tires wear evenly and avoid problems.
